TCLTC Style Track Details —John Neal
A while ago, some were asking for details as to how we "detailed" our tracks, especially the curves and points. I had a lot of free time this weekend, and I decided to get some pics taken (unfortunately, all of our points are still packed at the (...) (19 years ago, 6-Jun-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: TCLTC Style Track Details —Larry Pieniazek
(...) The 1x1s at the end have been the problem for us... but we were trying to use wing plates rather than piecing together using smaller plates. That may be a dead end, not sure. (...) Thanks for posting, it explains a lot. But not ALL, the (...) (19 years ago, 6-Jun-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: TCLTC Style Track Details —John Neal
(...) When I get a hold of one I can say for sure, but IIRC, we did nothing about that area, and it didn't seem to matter that much. But just thinking about it-- what can one do? More later. JOHN (19 years ago, 6-Jun-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: TCLTC Style Track Details —Mathew Clayson
(...) John, I've been playing with as well, but I use a slightly differnt meathode for the curves. I'll have to check out what you've done when I get home, thanks for posting. I agree about the speckling, although I'm using gray and very light grey (...) (19 years ago, 6-Jun-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: TCLTC Style Track Details —John Neal
(...) I agree that black and white have no place in speckling. If one is to only speckle regular LEGO track, then using gray and light gray is a good solution IMO. I wanted to alter the tie frequency of the LEGO track, and so that is why I chose to (...) (19 years ago, 6-Jun-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: TCLTC Style Track Details —Mark Bellis
(...) Have you tried adding tan in places where you use more light grey than dark grey? See next to the red & yellow loco here: (URL) Tan has a similar brightness to light grey, so it can break up the monotony of the colour. My research into real (...)         Re: TCLTC Style Track Details —Ross Crawford
(...) Thanks for that John. I doubt M>ltc will have enough tiles to do our entire layout anytime soon, but we may look at doing it a bit at a time, because I think it looks really good. It's may also look OK with lt grey tiles - many aus railroads (...) (19 years ago, 7-Jun-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: TCLTC Sleepers with Wide Mosaic Track Bed —Mark Bellis
(...) I've fed these ideas into my melting pot of track bed plans. I'm building 12-14 wide trackbeds for a new modular scenic layout. I began with the packs of grey and dark grey plates, one pack doing either one straight plus one curve or one (...) (19 years ago, 14-Oct-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Pictures of Trial of TCLTC Sleeper Scheme with Wider Track Bed —Mark Bellis
(...) A couple of pictures of my evaluation of a wider TCLTC-style scheme, prior to my experiments with sleeper colours and mosaic shading: (URL) used this piece to test stuff like clearances for BBB wheeled locos, feasibility of a wider track bed, (...)
