Hi Chris,
Thanks for sharing that. I really enjoyed hearing about the trials and
tribulations of your day. Lots of "grownups" would have issues with just
spending a large amount of time with that many "rug rats" never mind allowing
them to play with their mocs.
This post also got me to thinking about something one of our Lug members (Ka-on) made for the kids table at one of the shows. It was a large control stick (polarity switch) placed at the front of the layout, that allowed the kids to change the direction of the train, while I hide the transformer under the table and controlled the speed. It was a great and simple solution, but of course I think brilliant as well, since the thought would have never entered my head. Worked like a charm. The kids still felt like they were in control, and in a way they were, but it did keep the collisions to a minium. Well at least until I started driving, apparently I drive a train like a four year old. Having said that, I know I am not the only "grownup" that does either...... waits for the guilty nods.
