I showed this to a friend of mine who has actually operated the Shay #2 at
Cass, and he was truly amazed. Outstanding work!

Thanks Marc! He actually operated one? Cool! Cass is definitely on my list
of places to visit in the US. Maybe next time I get to BF - its not all
that far away from DC :)

You should go! Heading up the mountain on a shay is quite an experience.
Remember to take a coat, you will be amazed by the temperature change when
you get to the other side of the mountain.

Thanks for the tip!
|
Expect several hours traveling from DC though.

Well at some stage I would also like to spend some time travelling there, Id
really like to visit some coal mining states to check out the big machines, and
obviously do some train spotting too. It may be a few years yet though, I hope
theyre all still around!
Oh and thank you for your inspirational Shay model too!
