Re: Log Cabin on the water front

Duuuuuude :) That's really cool. I really like the style and techniques you used in this. I also like the fact it's on the water. :) -Anne (...) -- For SCO to attack IBM using IP (\`--/') _ _______ .-r-. is somewhat like trying to eat >.~.\ `` ` (...)   Re: Log Cabin on the water front

Mike, This looks awesome. Could you take a photo with the walls off to show the construction to those of us who don't have LDraw? Or would that require too much deconstruction? Bruce (21 years ago, 1-Oct-03, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Log Cabin on the water front

(...) I've never seen a log cabin like this (with the horizontal logs) ever done before, and I'd of thought someone would have stumbled across that before. It looks great and realistic. Thanks, George (21 years ago, 1-Oct-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: pbForth Does DCC!

My project is along a quite different track, I am attempting to create the DCC control packets with a PC sound card feeding an 'H' bridge power booster. I think my hardware is finished as I have checked it far as I can using an osciloscope but I (...) (21 years ago, 1-Oct-03, to lugnet.trains)

Re: The return of part 4511!

Better yet, it's in BLACK. Now I can use all my red doors for red boxcars, and build some all black boxcars. Do we have a release date and retail price yet? (...) -- Tom Stangl ***(URL) Visual FAQ home (21 years ago, 1-Oct-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: pbForth Does DCC!

  Introducing JetRed

After completing a few renderings of Wayne Sardullo's box car, I decided to rehash some of my old train creations, and ended up with a whole new train line.   Re: Hogswarts Express

(...) The firebox is too cool! Very clever! I'm going to have to try that out... it's off to BrickLink I go. :-) Thanks for sharing, Mark (21 years ago, 30-Sep-03, to lugnet.harrypotter, lugnet.trains)

  Re: Hogswarts Express

(...) I'm sure I could have fooled with it and made it worked as adveritized (sort of) but, it's still more fun like this. It was a huge hit at the NILTC Thomas the Tank Engine show...   Re: Hogswarts Express

(...) The luggage unloading works properly _if_ you ensure you build the engine carefully. All the bricks must be pushed togther properly.   Re: pbForth Does DCC!

(...) Hi Ralph I do not think it would be a good idea to have multiple DCC channels. Sure you can have multiple power supplies (which I think the DCC people call 'power stations') but each one should carry the identical DCC signal. DCC packets are (...) (21 years ago, 30-Sep-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Hogswarts Express

The biggest problem with this set is the magic unloading luggage which isn't and doesn't! My latest version of this set replaces the shock absorber and treasure chest with a working headlight and an animated, lighted firebox. These are infinatly (...)   RE: pbForth Does DCC!

(...) I think I mis-stated my question. I meant to ask how many _independent_ DCC channels would you like to see. That is, one DCC loop controlling trains and another controlling switches, lights, crossings, etc. I'm going to wait for more input (...) (21 years ago, 29-Sep-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: pbForth Does DCC!

(...) Excellent! (...) This depends on how many trains will be running, but IMO should at least be programmable (ie the ability to use 1, 2 or 3 ports depending on load). Because you can plug LACC[1] boosters into the output, and drive extra motors (...) (21 years ago, 29-Sep-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.trains)

Re: Help: Query re: 4.5V stuff

(...) The thing in the lower right is a very old 4.5V LEGO train motor. Since it's upside-down and disassembled it's harder to see it for what it is. It was first made around 1970.
