(...) Shaun, I've said it before, I'll say it again: that is one of the neatest MOCs I've ever seen. And it now graces my XP desktop, something I've never done with a MOC before. (...) Beautiful Shaun! It must be said again. Your Hudson is a really great model. This poster must be printed out as large as possible (on my A4-printer). It must have been a tremendous job to model it in Ldraw with all the curved flexible parts. (...) (22 years ago, 19-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad, lugnet.publish)

  Glut of 4561 on Ebay

I was just curious if anyone has any insight as to why there are so many 4561 sets currently on ebay right now. This set retails for around $130, depending on sales and such. But lately I've noticed that on ebay you can pick one up from $50 to $65. (...) (22 years ago, 19-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains)

  New Train Poster: 4-6-4 Steamer

Hi Everybody! Jeroen de Haan has once again worked wonders! Given only an LDRAW file, he put together a (if I may be so bold) gorgeous poster of a Hudson 4-6-4 Steam Engine. He uploaded three different wallpaper sizes, in addition to the pdf file (...) (22 years ago, 19-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.publish, lugnet.cad) !!

  Re: Nose doors?

(...) Not opening. However, on my Via F unit, it has 2 1x4 tiles on the nose to simulate the door. Problems I can see are that they opened outwards, and are only ~1 stud wide or at most 2. (most had a 2 part door). Hinging would be a problem using (...) (22 years ago, 19-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains)

Re: the perfect way to sell lego trains

I'm sorry, I disagree. This might work well for the railroad enthusiast who is already familiar with such a system, but the average consumer would expect a "take it out of the box and it works" mentality. This is why we see so many complete working (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.dear-lego)

  Nose doors?

Hey all, I've noticed a detail on EMD Fs, Alco FA/PAs, etc (called Cab units, right?), that never seems to get modeled. The door on the nose of the engine. I know K-Line recently made an E7 with a working door in O-gauge, which is actually where I (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains)
