  Glut of 4561 on Ebay

I was just curious if anyone has any insight as to why there are so many 4561 sets currently on ebay right now. This set retails for around $130, depending on sales and such. But lately I've noticed that on ebay you can pick one up from $50 to $65. (...) (22 years ago, 19-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains)

  New Train Poster: 4-6-4 Steamer

Hi Everybody! Jeroen de Haan has once again worked wonders! Given only an LDRAW file, he put together a (if I may be so bold) gorgeous poster of a Hudson 4-6-4 Steam Engine. He uploaded three different wallpaper sizes, in addition to the pdf file (...) (22 years ago, 19-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.publish, lugnet.cad) !!

  Re: Nose doors?

(...) Not opening. However, on my Via F unit, it has 2 1x4 tiles on the nose to simulate the door. Problems I can see are that they opened outwards, and are only ~1 stud wide or at most 2. (most had a 2 part door). Hinging would be a problem using (...) (22 years ago, 19-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains)

Re: The Lil' Critter and other assorted choo-choo goodies

Veyr nice! The detailing is ver good, much better, I must say, than on your first engine. Captures the spirit of the prototype, if not the exact details. -Stefan- (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains)

Re: B&O V-2 Hudson Steam Engine

I have updated www.lgauge.com with 12 more pics of the V-2. Some more detail shots of the bottom and several pics of it on a curve, showing the cab overhang and how the drivers stay on the rails. (...) snip (22 years ago, 18-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains)

Re: the perfect way to sell lego trains

(...) <snip> It has been my experience that the 'complete working sets around Christmas time' are just exactly that. And when New Years Day rolls around, the train ends up in the trash because of it being so cheaply built. (a little golden (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: the perfect way to sell lego trains

I'm sorry, I disagree. This might work well for the railroad enthusiast who is already familiar with such a system, but the average consumer would expect a "take it out of the box and it works" mentality. This is why we see so many complete working (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.dear-lego)

The Lil' Critter and other assorted choo-choo goodies

Before I emerged from my Dark Ages, I dabbled in G scale (large outdoor garden trains), where I had fallen in love with Aristo-Craft's Lil' Critter engine (URL) little engine of mine ran on an overhead, ceiling-mounted layout at the Pizza Inn joint (...)   Nose doors?

Hey all, I've noticed a detail on EMD Fs, Alco FA/PAs, etc (called Cab units, right?), that never seems to get modeled. The door on the nose of the engine. I know K-Line recently made an E7 with a working door in O-gauge, which is actually where I (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Pickup wheels?

I've read some of the requests and polls about new train stuff. I haven't been reading this group for long, but one thing I haven't seen much discussion of are (non-motor) electrical pickup wheels?   Re: Copenhagen Metro subway station!

Great model, Esben. A pitty that you have to tear it down so quickly. Would you not like to build something and show it for real at the next European meeting of LEGO fans? See how much fun we had: (URL) friendly greetings, M. Moolhuysen. (22 years ago, 16-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains)
