Just wanted to toss out a link to my current GMLTC project. I'm working on a model of the famous Union Pacific #3985 'Challenger' 4-6-6-4 steam engine. It's huge (64 studs long for the locomotive itself), but it handles the curves on Lego track (...) (22 years ago, 1-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains)

(...) Great plan for the small wheels!! Might have to use it on my 2-10-0 (which won't handle well in switches anyways! It'll be more for show... I can't think of any other way to 10 straight drive wheels stay on the tracks (even straight tracks). (...) (22 years ago, 1-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains)

John, Fabulous, I find it very interesting that after all this time that most of us have been doing things backward so to speak. I've been keeping to myself most of the time when it comes to the Large Steam train line because the last two I did were (...) (22 years ago, 1-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains)

John- That challenger is looking really nice with those siver hubs. And I really like your use of the cam piece inside the wheel - I think I may have to do that myself. :) (...) Josh- For your 2-10-0 you may want to try using inverted hammers as (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains)
