Re: German DB236 Diesel Switcher Locomotive

(...) The real brick model came first. I worked from a photo of a Maerklin model in one of my Maerklin catalogs. I'm not sure I would have built it in CAD first, since I don't have a .dat file for the 12v motor nor the 12v motor gray drive rods. I (...) (23 years ago, 23-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Cass #5

(...) If the shafts ran down the side, it was a Shay (thus earning it the moniker "sidewinder"). If the shafts ran down the centerline, it was either a Heisler or a Climax (this all assumes it was one of the big three, I there were actually a couple (...)   German DB236 Diesel Switcher Locomotive

A little diesel switcher, the DB236 (or maybe v36?). Looks a lot better with the old 12v motor and drive rods. A lot of selective compression and a little artistic liberty...here's the result: (URL) Mathis (23 years ago, 23-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Truck Trailer hauler: Road to Rails, Keeping it Simple

(...) Actually, I've been "playing" with it tonight, and I've found some problems with it. In "push" mode the wheels pop off the track. Also, the yellow Technic piece has too much sag in it at the joint next to the end of the trailer; part of the (...) (23 years ago, 22-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains)

Truck Trailer hauler: Road to Rails, Keeping it Simple

Just a little tinkering with a favorite set-- 4549, Road 'n Rail Hauler. I wanted to load the entire trailer onto simple train wheelsets with minimum mods to the LEGO(R) design trailer. Added 3 parts to the trailer: 1) quantity two of 6019 Plate 1 x (...) (23 years ago, 21-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains)
