You are right. The section of track adds 5" to the length of the track.

| (...) of track has tabs that stick out on the end to connect to the next piece of track which makes it slightly longer (2 studs, IIRC. That would make it ~5.6"). Of course, because the tabs overlap each extra piece of track only adds 5 1/16". Steve (...) (23 years ago, 29-Aug-01, to lugnet.trains)
