That is an interesting guess, Harvey.
I really don't know why they would discontinue the motor, they just put out
My Own Train, and are dependant on the motor for marketibilty.
What a unique concept though with the my own train. You get a reasonably
priced train engine.....with your choice of upgrades to light and motor.
(this is for those who dragged their feet historically because the cost of
getting into train was soo high....now they have no excuse!!!!!!)
and then they added rolling stock so those (of US!!!!) with an ample collection
can add more stock!!!! YES!!!! more...more....give us more!!! :)
The LUG I belong to (rtl Toronto) doesn't have a train club,
but most of the users are either robotics or train enthusiasts (2 of the
regulars are into castle, 4 or so are solely into robots, the rest (about 6 or
7) are into train (including myself)). DCC is something that we could use
for our train events...we had a wonderful event in the spring (Train1 in May)
and an upcoming one in August (Train2).
Our main guy (calum) wanted modules and DCC for Train2...but it was too
expensive to implement.....who knows, maybe for Train3 or Train4. DCC will be
a probable endevor for our club.
