But then you miss the beauty of the model! The proto actually employs a double tub
floor design, which
"increases coal hauling capacity by up to 21 tons per car over traditional flat
bottomed gondolas" (from their web site). That is what makes the Coalporter so
revolutionary and unique. The half cylinders are *perfect* for simulating this.
