Language fun (was Re: High Speed...)

(...) Is that what you call "Auf Wiederlesen"? As much as I am consistently impressed with the mastery of English of our ESL[1] members, I also enjoy reverse translating to see what the original thought might have been. So many good "word-turns" (...) (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.fun)

Hi James, (...) You will get them later, sorry for waiting, but I am to busy at the moment. (...) Dein Deutsch ist nicht schlecht! Did you get it? Go on with it! HAve you been to Europe often? Trainspotting I would think! (...) Oh yes!!! (...) The (...) (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: A real live working LEGO Shelf railway...

(...) Just a bit of followup on this point. It turns out that the trains noise is quite soothing to the baby and will help him fall asleep about 75% of the time. The rest of the time it just doesn't matter what you do. The noise also seems to help (...) (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.people)

  Re: LEGO 2001

(...) It could be a half round, but the Alpha Team's enemie's base is built on a 6416 style baseplate, and looks like it has a curved wall around the stairs, which are a quarter circle, and the wall would be 4x4 to fit the curve. It seems unlikely (...) (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.pirates, lugnet.castle, lugnet.trains)

  Re: Self-Centering extended coupler

(...) Your coupler design was the design that started this thread. I was wondering if there was a way to keep the coupler straight when going backwards. That is all. Each solution has its advantages, and I like all three! Chris P.S. Your stairs, the (...) (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: MOC - Berwyn, PA Platforms

Bryan, Thanks for the reference but I need to give credit where due. Ben Fleskes originally designed the Amtrak style engine (of course I did embellish it to its current greatness ;) ) SteveB (...) (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: LEGO 2001

(...) Are you sure this is a 4x4x5 quarter-cirle and not a half-round? If so, **happy day!** Finally, fully-scalable funnels! best Lindsay (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.pirates, lugnet.castle, lugnet.trains)

  Re: High Speed Trains-Photogallery Link-LEGO Acela v.1

(...) I thought these 6-wide complex angle train nose slopes were smooth on the slope. Is the orange one from the approx. $10 Artic set #6569 Polar Explorer stickered or painted? (Answer to this may have no relavance to the new black one, I just (...) (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: MOC - Berwyn, PA Platforms

Thanks for the compliments on the photography. Sony CyberShot DCP S50 is the model number I believe. It has a 3x optical zoom and a macro mode. The pictures are strait from the camera with no computer touchup. No lighting tricks either. There are (...) (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.trains)
