New LEGO train realism? (was:Re:infrared remote control of LEGO trains using NCQ and RCX)

(...) This sounds almost too good to be true, but it would be very fortuitous for the GMLTC because we have just voted at our last show in La Crosse (went well, pics and mpegs to follow, but not soon as I am leaving on vacation for 2 weeks soon) to (...)   Re: MODEL BART TRAIN

Michael Kay wrote about his BART train car... (...) That still takes you to the main page, without a link to the BART page just yet. Fortunately, he uses an easily-guessed page name, so use (URL) Regards, -Z- (URL) (24 years ago, 22-Mar-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf, lugnet.trains)

Re: infrared remote control of LEGO trains using NQC and RCX

First, let me apologize for mistyping NQC as NCQ. Hey Ben! Hope those rumors are true. So if they are going to do something with remote switches and such, will it be similar to DCC or radio/infrared control? I'm guessing some form of remote control. (...)   Re: Pictures of GFLTC at GATS Ft Myers on our stie...

(...) Here's a few pics of one of my buses: (URL) I am building vehicles, I decided to determine the width by how "big" or "massive" it has to be. Buses are typically large things that need should be much longer than a standard car. A 4-wide twenty (...) (24 years ago, 22-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.trains, lugnet.town)

Re: infrared remote control of LEGO trains using NCQ and RCX

Hi Ben F.! Maybe all your work is a little needless, since there are rumors going around here in Germany, saying Lego is going to invent new more realistic trains next year, or even late this year around X-mas...... I've heared about it from a (...) (24 years ago, 22-Mar-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc, lugnet.trains)

  Re: Non-Lego trains, anyone?

Sounds like monorail to me... of course I build my monorails at 6 studs! SteveB Ralph Hempel wrote in message <000001bf92a2$97975d...pro150>... (...) (24 years ago, 22-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)

Re: infrared remote control of LEGO trains using NCQ and RCX

Thanks Dan. Actually, I just came up with this myself but I added a float line as follows to stop it a little more gracefully. if (__speed == 0) {Float(OUT_A);} I'm pretty pleased with the results now. Hopefully I'll be able to avoid those train (...) (24 years ago, 22-Mar-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc, lugnet.trains)

Re: infrared remote control of LEGO trains using NCQ and RCX

(...) you never check if your speed is 0 in this task - IMO, you need to add: if (__speed == 0) {Off(OUT_A)}; (I'm guessing here, since I haven't really done any NCQ myself yet. :/ Dan (24 years ago, 22-Mar-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc, lugnet.trains)

infrared remote control of LEGO trains using NCQ and RCX

When I first bought my RCX some time ago, I dreamed of using the remote control to drive the train. Well I think I finally have it working. The following code works but has a problem which perhaps somebody can help me with. The program looks for (...) (24 years ago, 22-Mar-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc, lugnet.trains)
