Re: To buy or not to buy...

I hope my message doesn't imply that I simply base value on money - the 7740 is my favorite Lego train of all time - I wouldn't sell mine for $500. The prices I mentioned are just observations of how much these items typically go for in auctions (...) (26 years ago, 9-Oct-98, to lugnet.trains)

Re: To buy or not to buy...

Grahame, You would be a candidate for the Lego Hall of Shame thread on r.t.l. if you didn't buy this! I've put approximate values (according to TM) for some of these sets in your message: (...) $500 (...) $250 (...) $50 (...) $150 (...) $125 (...) (26 years ago, 9-Oct-98, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: PNLTC custom train auction

(...) This is pretty cool. If there is interest, I probably could be persuaded to auction off copies of some of my train stuff. Drop me a note as to what you'd be interested in. The starting bid probably would be what the AucZILLA cost for parts to (...) (26 years ago, 8-Oct-98, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Chessie Caboose

Funny how these threads spam groups so fast. LeoCad is great. The only trouble is that it is really slow. I have talked with the author and he is really nice, however he was busy at school. I ran LeoCad on the fastest PC in the world with a (...) (26 years ago, 9-Oct-98, to lugnet.trains)

  PNLTC custom train auction

lugnet comment: Are we doning train auctions on the train group? Hi All, I am going to auction one of my B&O Chessie System custom diesel engines. A picture can be found on the PNLTC web site; directly www.pnltc.org/EngDE_..._Ches.jpg. The engine (...) (26 years ago, 8-Oct-98, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Chessie Caboose

Hi All, This is the first chance I had to get onto this news group. My company has firewalls and really doesn't like too much personal use on the web... Anyway, I used the wet version of the train decals. I like the way you can slide them around (...) (26 years ago, 8-Oct-98, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Chessie Caboose

Michael, I used dry transfer decals for my steam engine ((URL) You can find these at most train hobby stores. A word of caution though, they are not easy to put on. And, it's going to put a foreign substance on your LEGO bricks. I'm not sure what (...) (26 years ago, 7-Oct-98, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Chessie Caboose

I've done some experimenting with model train decals. You can buy dry decals and they apply quite easily and nicely onto LEGO bricks. O-scale prints match the LEGO train scale altough they might be a bit too big depending on your preference. As for (...) (26 years ago, 6-Oct-98, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Chessie Caboose

Mike - You'd probably be real close if you looked for O scale decals. I've seen other LEGO train-heads use Kadee O scale couplers instead of the standard cylindrical magnets, and they seem to apply nicely to the existing LEGO train scale. Perhaps O (...)   Chessie Caboose

I guess I should post this to RTL first, but I thought I'd try it hear... On PNLTC, there's a Chessie Caboose. I'm guessing that stickers were used on the caboose... Now, I've just recently gotten into trains (so I know very little and next to (...) (26 years ago, 6-Oct-98, to lugnet.trains)
