  Re: 1999 NL sets 4533, 4553, 4556, 4557

(...) Gary Louie and I talked about this offline. That's the way I'm betting too. But if not, a bulk buy will be organized. Wait 6 months, then watch this space for details. (26 years ago, 7-Jan-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Rip off of Playmobil?

(...) Well, like I said, I don't know if the two trains are based on some real life train somewhere (which I suspect they are) so I can't accuse Lego of doing anything wrong, but I still think they have copied what Playmobil have done. Technically (...) (26 years ago, 7-Jan-99, to lugnet.trains)

Do these elements exist in green? If you have some will you sell?

I'm doing an SW-xxxx (probably a 1500 because it won't have top rounded windows) and I decided to do it in C&NW colors because yellow and green aren't used much in existing Train models. But I've discovered that I'm short (or have, but don't know (...) (26 years ago, 7-Jan-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.build, lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade, lugnet.trains)

  Re: Rip off of Playmobil?

Matthew Bates wrote in message ... (...) that (...) Lego (...) SNIP I don't consider this accusation fair, since there aren't that many ways to build a small steam locomotive. I'm convinced *any* toy designer would come up with roughly the same (...) (26 years ago, 7-Jan-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Rip off of Playmobil?

Matt, to add ammunition to your arguement, PM trains utilize allot of LGB components and this basic LGB passenger car/van design has been around for some time, I believe. [side note: PM track is actually LGB track.] It is a corporate mystery when (...) (26 years ago, 7-Jan-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 1999 NL sets 4533, 4553, 4556, 4557

(...) I want one anyway! (...) The important point is, how can I get one. The closest I can come is a friend in Iceland, and the postage would be more than the sets, even if he can find them. So do you have a contact in the Netherlands that is (...) (26 years ago, 7-Jan-99, to lugnet.trains)

Re: UP engines (was Re: New pictures of 700, Potential challenge to big red

Thank you for the history lesson Larry! As usual, you are a plethora of information and a good guy to have around. You guessed correctly how I managed the trucks: one attaches to the frame and the other hinges upon it. I used four motor because, (...) (26 years ago, 6-Jan-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Indictment of Lego

You go, Matt!! (translation: good work, keep it up!) What in the heck is going on in Europe?! This is pathetic and hilarious at the same time! Dare I say conspiracy??... Item: New theme for year 2000: The Conspirators. "Help the lego faithful as (...) (26 years ago, 6-Jan-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Rip off of Playmobil?

(...) That had crossed my mind, and for that matter look at this one: (URL) suspiciously like the black and yellow double tipper car in set 2126! Matt (26 years ago, 6-Jan-99, to lugnet.trains)
