  Re: LEGO 7996 and 9V

(...) I wish that I had read this a few months ago (when I should have). I just bought a 7996 with the intention to convert it to 9V. I am very disapointed that you can not have both of the parallel straights switched to go straight at the same (...) (17 years ago, 8-Mar-08, to lugnet.trains)

The Greater Midwest LEGO Train Club will be showing this weekend at the La Crosse & Three Rivers Railroad Club 27th Annual Model Railroad Show. Come see the GMLTC’s 18’x30’ ever-expanding modular all-LEGO town & train layout. Club member Judy Payne (...)   Sekiyama MOC - clad tankcar

(2 URLs) BS> I'm yet to see (URL) post here so I've taken the liberty of passing on this lovely little MOC. I think the new wheels work really well here. Tim (17 years ago, 6-Mar-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: Ballasting Corners?

(...) Clifton- The curve track ballasting layout document lives on our file server at home. I'll try to put it on scltc.org and post a link. The core problem that the drawing solves is maximizing the amount of square "gravel" that can be placed (...) (17 years ago, 6-Mar-08, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Ballasting Corners?

(...) Is it possible to have Susan post the link here for everyone, since there are times when all of the clubs combine track at major shows. I know there is some reluctance by some clubs to move to standardization by including these types of (...) (17 years ago, 6-Mar-08, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Ballasting Corners?

(...) Dave- We have a drawing that use to make the curves (and another to do switches) for all the ballasted track on SCLTC layouts. I'll ask Susan to send you one. -Ted SCLTC (17 years ago, 5-Mar-08, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Any interest in high amp. Train controllers?

(...) Steve- National gives the Absolute Maximum Value for Vin for the LM317 at 40V, but why would you want to run that high for a load that's supposed to be limited to 9V? You would waste of the extra power dissipation of the bigger device and get (...) (17 years ago, 5-Mar-08, to lugnet.trains)

  Ghost Train

(URL) Point Brique Ghost Train, as seen at Brickvention 2008 (where it won second prize) and on (URL). While I’ve built hundreds of MOCs over the years, it’s only recently that I’ve become interested in building amusement rides. Inspired by Stump (...)   Re: Any interest in high amp. Train controllers?

(...) [snip] Hah, and here was me using a 12V Lego train transformer to run my 9V trains ;-) Using a suitable adapter wire of course. But that was 220V, so I left it in the UK. I'm not sure of the rating of those transformers, but I think it was a (...) (17 years ago, 5-Mar-08, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade, lugnet.trains)
