  Re: Train Jr?

(...) If this set has a new element that allows power pickup WITHOUT motor drive that would be awesome indeed. (think lighted coaches...) Closing the loop and providing a way to get drive power to wheels that did not themselves pick up electric (...) (26 years ago, 27-Dec-98, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Train Jr?

(...) If you look at the right-most wheel, it seems to have metal on the flanges. That could be a pickup for power to the plow. (but it could just be reflections) ____ |oooo| Cheers, |oooo| Wouter van Wageningen ¯¯¯¯ (26 years ago, 27-Dec-98, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Train Jr?

(...) A bit? Wow, that's an understatement. That ridiculous station is the most worthless piece of garbage I have ever seen. I didn't notice a price but the thought that it might be priced at anything near the Retrostation is sickening. I've now (...) (26 years ago, 27-Dec-98, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Narrow Gauge Lego trains

(...) Wow, this is cool. Did you actually get the track to loop all the way around into a complete circle and close the loop? (you commented that you were off by one for each length of track on the inner rail) When I first read this I thought (...) (26 years ago, 27-Dec-98, to lugnet.trains)

Larry Pieniazek wrote in message <36843F34.63799E19@c...AM.com>... (...) While I certainly agree that the train line has been infected with the Town Junior syndrome, at least the line hadsn't been discontinued like Pirates. (26 years ago, 26-Dec-98, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Train Jr?

Have to get a closer look when I'm at work with a T1. I did have a chance to notice the snow plow. It looks like there is a special wheel between the other two. Perhaps it is used to drive the blade on the snow plow? That would be cool. Also the (...) (26 years ago, 26-Dec-98, to lugnet.trains)

  Narrow Gauge Lego trains

Has anyone ever built a narrow gauge Lego train? I tried my hand at it. the following link has a couple of pictures. (URL) let me know what you think. Ben Fleskes (26 years ago, 26-Dec-98, to lugnet.trains)

  Train Jr?

Maybe it's just me, but after seeing the scans that MirrorSpock just put up and looking at the train wash, the new container crane, the rotary, and especially the new station, I am left with the feeling that Train has been a bit Juniorized. That 3 (...) (26 years ago, 26-Dec-98, to lugnet.trains)

OK, just one more, this site is a treasure trove of good stuff: (URL) out the transfer table, which appears to be operational, the Conrail color scheme switcher, the water tower, the engine house (with signals, roll up doors, and skylights), the (...) (...) The above should be rec.MODELS.railroad. I cancelled and reposted. Whoops! I also put up a message in that same group, crossposted to RTL, to wit: (Comments welcome!) -- start -- To rec.models.railroad readers: I'm a long time railfan, had a (...) A repost from RTL. I said this (and cross posted to rec.model.railroad) in response to Bruce asking for prototype sources as a result of seeing James' model: (...) (...) One of the local Target stores (Twin Cities) started their LEGO clearance already! I bought a 4559-Cargo Railway on 122398 for $77.90 (orig $129.99... 40% off) They had 14 of them at 09:46, I told my friend—he was there within an hour and they (...)
