Re: What happened to the Train links, and ILTCO is broke

(...) All the ones I could find worked for me too in IE6 and Firefox, but I'm not sure exactly which link you are referring to. Is it all links to ILTCO or from specific page? Tim (19 years ago, 14-May-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: What happened to the Train links, and ILTCO is broke

(...) It's still there, under "Links and Resources" about half way down the page (Hyperlinked by a "Click HERE") (...) Hmm. Worked for me, so I'm no help there. JOHN (19 years ago, 13-May-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: 8 Wide LEGO Thomas! (pics)

(...) Fair enough. I guess what I don't understand is how Thomas could have remained a relative unknown here in the US up until the late 80's. JOHN (19 years ago, 13-May-05, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.duplo, FTX)

What happened to the Train links, and ILTCO is broke

What happened to the cool set of train links in the sidebar? That was my main source of research links for train stuff, and now I see none of them. I liked the links to Ben's pages, and others that were helpful. Also, the ILTCO page link is broke (...) (19 years ago, 13-May-05, to lugnet.trains)

They were very popular in countries other than the UK, so they (the characters/stories) were propelled to the world stage many years before anyone thought of a Brio Thomas or TV series. (...)   Train design (roof)

I am going to build a new car, and got an idea. Using the parts: (URL) the roof. My car will probably be 7 wide, and I was thinking of using those for the roof. My concern is that it will be 5 wide and the end using those parts. I am not to found of (...) (19 years ago, 13-May-05, to lugnet.trains)

(...) I must admit that I have lost touch with the show and all of the newer characters (although Ross and I did go to see the motion picture, for the sake of nostalgia:-) I heard that Alec Baldwin took over for Carlin (AB was in the movie)-- I (...)   Re: 8 Wide LEGO Thomas! (pics)

(...) Sort of. It was set in a train station, with human characters. One character (Ringo, initially), would tell a story (about Thomas et al) every now and then to some kids, and the show would cut to the large scale Thomas characters with the (...) (...) Yeah, well, I'm all for pendantries and all, but here is what meant. I know that Learning Curve has the Thomas license (I bought enough of them-- I oughta know!) What I didn't know is that Brio has a license in (Sweden?). Even if Brio hasn't a (...) (19 years ago, 13-May-05, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.duplo, FTX)

(...) I'm going to be a pedant here and argue that there is no Thomas BRIO now, either. At least not in the US. It's a clone, not real BRIO.   Re: best way to support elevated plates?

(...) For 1000Steineland 2003 Klaas Meijaard and myself built a huge pirate layout, that had to cover up 3 train tracks. We used a combination of brick+technic framework (all 2*4 and 2*8 bricks, and technic 1*16's for long beams across) with loads (...) (19 years ago, 13-May-05, to lugnet.trains)

Re: 8 Wide LEGO Thomas! (pics)

(...) Ahem. Thomas the Tank Engine books and records (7" 45 RPM!) were very popular in Australia in the early 70s. So while the TV series may have propelled it onto the North American stage, that is not necessarily the world stage. ROSCO (19 years ago, 12-May-05, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.duplo, FTX)

Re: best way to support elevated plates?

Thanks to both, that's very interesting. It's much denser than I had in mind; and though 2x2 and 2x4 bricks are dirt cheap, it would use a LOT of them. I'm not sure if it would actually come out cheaper or not, but it's certainly worth considering. (...) (19 years ago, 12-May-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)
