(...) The motor pictured is definitely the earlier style motor, with rivet-like sockets for the 4.5v plugs. The later motor was significantly different internally, with the sockets actually attached to the internal metal motor chassis, instead of (...) (20 years ago, 1-Mar-05, to lugnet.trains)

(...) THe gears didn't come with the set--they were just in the box when I got it--the instructions don't show them listed. I'm glad I got them, though--they're different than the gears in the other 2 old sets I have--these ones fit the old black (...) (20 years ago, 28-Feb-05, to lugnet.trains)

(...) What happens when you run it off 9V as you do? Is the capacitor getting overvoltage? Would this have an effect on long term durability? I had been thinking of playing iwth these to try to make a people mover using Racers track but without much (...) (20 years ago, 28-Feb-05, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.parts, FTX)
