  6 wheeled 9v motor

I've been woring on an EMD SD-40 eginine. And I wanted to have 6 wheeled motor trucks. But I also wanted it to be able to negotiate turns and switches. So I chopped up a 9v wheel set, modified the side plates for a 9v motor. (URL) I removed the (...) (20 years ago, 7-Oct-04, to lugnet.parts.mod, lugnet.trains)

All aboard for Train and Town at NWBrickCon!

If you would like to contribute to the layout, please e-mail me at <mailto:jrclark@aol.com jrclark@aol.com>. Let me know how many (...)   Re: 2-6-4-T Steamlocomotive

Looks good, the macaroni brick seems to be a popular choice for boilers at moment! Is that a hairbrush I see? My main problem is that the overall loco proportions don't quite look right, perhaps if it was rebuilt using the same details and (...)   2-6-4-T Steamlocomotive

Hi! I want to introduce my latest MOC, a 2-6-4-T steamlocomotive: (URL) Although there is no real-live-model of it, I got a lot of inspirations from british and german locos. The 2-6-4-T is 43 studs long, 7 studs wide (what else ;-) ) with a (...) (20 years ago, 29-Sep-04, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build.schleim, lugnet.trains, FTX) !

Re: Difference between front image and instructions in set 133

(...) I think it is more a design change between the cover photo shoot and the creation of the instructions. Most other examples (e.g. 721 and 8860) have used new parts in the instructions and the set itself which were probably not yet available (...) (20 years ago, 29-Sep-04, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Difference between front image and instructions in set 133

(...) Perhaps the 1X2 brick fell off between assembly and the photography session beings it appears it's held on by just two studs from the under side of the plate. -Patrick (20 years ago, 29-Sep-04, to lugnet.trains)

Difference between front image and instructions in set 133

Comparing a render of the set 133 locomotive with my actual copy, I noticed a difference: a black 1x2 brick between the wheels on each side. Thinking that either my actual train or the ldraw file is wrong I checked the instructions again. And I (...) (20 years ago, 28-Sep-04, to lugnet.trains)

That is one sweet ride. Sleek. Love the canopy. It's great to see some monorail innovation. I look forward to seeing your master plan of a Mars base come together. -Brendan (20 years ago, 28-Sep-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: S@H pictures set #10133 (BNSF locomotive)

  Re: New MOC: S P A C E Monorail in dark red

(...) Thanks for the kind words, Lenny! lol Sorry, I didn't mean to be cryptic, but I have an ambitious project that I may or may not be able to follow through with, so I hesitate to get too detailed about it. It's beyond a mere moonbase; in fact (...) (20 years ago, 27-Sep-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: S@H pictures set #10133 (BNSF locomotive)

(...) Manfred, thanks for posting these. It looks real nice. Not much change from the spray painted version. Best I can tell it's modeled off a EMD GP38, and based on the horn placemnet a BN egine that's been repainted to BNSF. But wether it's an (...) (20 years ago, 27-Sep-04, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: S@H pictures set #10133 (BNSF locomotive)

Excellent pictures! Thank you for sharing. Gosh, I hate to be impatient... but I cannot wait to see what rail cars LEGO will (*) produce to hang off the end of this locomotive. How soon after the release of the Sante Fe did we see James' various (...) (20 years ago, 27-Sep-04, to lugnet.trains)

Jake ought to be reminded that hanging onto the outside of a handrail like that may well give that "devil may care" attitude he's apparently going for, but is HIGHLY dangerous and (...)
