  Re: New box cars

(...) I really like the color scheme on these models. The detail with the Technic pieces on the trucks is A+ and different. Good. later, James (25 years ago, 7-Sep-99, to lugnet.trains)

Re: New attempt at Double Decker Train

(...) That is my model of the "Starlight Express" Marklin paint job on a DB locomotive. (URL) used the 4559 Cargo Railway front-ends with matching bottom front ends from the ResQ hovercraft set. I actually don't really care for the pointy nose that (...) (25 years ago, 7-Sep-99, to lugnet.trains)

Re: New attempt at Double Decker Train

What is that at the end of the train in that pic. It vaguely looks like an American "B" unit switcher (I'm sure it's not)???? BTW I had taken a trun at a double-decker as well at: steve.bar.home.att.net SteveB (...) (25 years ago, 7-Sep-99, to lugnet.trains)

  New box cars

I built a new set of box cars. Love to get some feedback. steve.bar.home.att.net SteveB PNLTC (25 years ago, 7-Sep-99, to lugnet.trains)

Re: New attempt at Double Decker Train

(...) Eric, Is this the Dutch train style you're modelling? (URL)I took pictures but they are still in the camera on an unfinished roll; (...) I'm looking forward to seeing your new train model. I'm fortunate enough to have two friends who have Sony (...) (25 years ago, 7-Sep-99, to lugnet.trains)

Re: New attempt at Double Decker Train

James, We're really on the same track ;-) I've just build a first version of a Dutch double decker train a couple of weeks ago, which strikingly resembles your train, with very different colors, though. I took pictures but they are still in the (...) (25 years ago, 6-Sep-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Members wanted for Subconsortium

We at the Northern Virginia Lego Train Club would really like to join the consortium of people trying to purchase Train Doors and Windows from TLG. Unfortunately, we do not have enough money, so we were wondering if there was anyone who wants to (...) (25 years ago, 3-Sep-99, to lugnet.trains)

Re: New attempt at Double Decker Train

(...) I keep wondering if I will ever be able to try to model something US train-related. Maybe it's the "Danish" in the brick that keeps me European? ;-) (...) Personally, I find the double decker train appearance somewhat elegant. Well, not all (...) (25 years ago, 3-Sep-99, to lugnet.trains)

Re: New attempt at Double Decker Train

I dunno, James. That is some funky looking train. I mean the prototype! Your model captures what is a pretty weird train pretty well. Exceedingly well, actually. Why the white tiles on the trucks?? To get the right look when it's not sitting on a (...) (25 years ago, 3-Sep-99, to lugnet.trains)

New attempt at Double Decker Train

Made a little attempt at a German double decker passenger train this past week. Pictures through (URL) link to "what's new" later, James Mathis (25 years ago, 3-Sep-99, to lugnet.trains)

Re: New models of Semi Trucks etc.

(...) The fact that I agree with you about current quality level does not in any way disprove my thesis. If you actually understood the scientific method instead of cheering sproat when he takes pot shots at it, you'd have a better chance of doing (...)   Re: New models of Semi Trucks etc.

(...) I think standard container lengths are 20, 40, 48 and 53. There might also be 28 footers. These are also standard semi trailer lengths. Paul (25 years ago, 2-Sep-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

A few more pics of LEGOLand Denmark

Hi All, FYI There are a few more pics from LL on my web site, including some (LEGO built, but still disputed purity) train pics. SteveB steve.bar.home.att.net (25 years ago, 1-Sep-99, to lugnet.trains)

Re: New models of Semi Trucks etc.

(...) Ah, yes. Trains. Consider the last two offerings -- 3225 and 4561 [1]. Truly I say unto you that the *only* good things about those sets are the windows. I'd rather have the entire train line discontinued in exchange for train window packs if (...) (25 years ago, 1-Sep-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun, lugnet.trains)

Re: New models of Semi Trucks etc.

(...) 10 for width yes. Container height and length vary. 40 used to be standard but there now are 20s, 30s, 40s, 44s and 50s I believe. I dunno what the standard height is. However my point is simple, 10 feet is the width of a container, it's also (...) (25 years ago, 1-Sep-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

Larry Pieniazek: (...) Ain't containers 10 by 10 by 40 feet? Play well, Jacob (the multi-width guy :-) ---...--- -- E-mail: sparre@cats.nbi.dk -- -- Web...: <URL:(URL) -- ---...--- (25 years ago, 1-Sep-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

Re: New models of Semi Trucks etc.

It loaded fine for me here at work, but I know for a fact it won't load at home, even though I am using Communicator 4.61 at both locations, both on NTWS 4.0 SP4. The reason I know it won't load at home, even without trying? Xoom. If you have a (...) (25 years ago, 1-Sep-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

Re: New models of Semi Trucks etc.

(...) I made a more scaled container awhile back. check out (URL) I have since changed the car that carrys the container, to a shared bogie unit. With 4 containers long stacked two containers high. Pictures to come soon I hope. Dave (25 years ago, 1-Sep-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

Re: New models of Semi Trucks etc.

(...) Yes, they are a bit wider, that is true. But the extra width can be as little as 4 inches a side (in fact on some spine cars it's 0) which in a total width of 10 feet is less than LEGO resolution. That's not even a plate on its side, much less (...) (25 years ago, 1-Sep-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)
