  Re: Thalys and Hondekop Pics

(...) Excellent work, Eric. I really appreciate the documentation of concepts explored, but not persued. Very nice to see the evolution toward the final design. Thanks! I love the front ends you've contoured for both the Thalys and the Dutch locos. (...) (25 years ago, 24-Jun-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Thalys and Hondekop Pics

Re: 4559 (was New MOC:TGV in Orange)

Chris, I agree with others about 4559, it's a great set for parts. I used a good deal of the parts from 4559 to build my 4-4-0 steam engine as seen at: (URL) excuse the poor picture quality, I haven't updated the site in a while. And, BTW, I'm a (...) (25 years ago, 24-Jun-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: New MOC:TGV in Orange

(...) I really need to get some pictures of my re-build of the 4559 engine (using parts from 2 4559 and 2 5542). I also need to get back to train building and finish the rebuild of the cars. This set is a lot more useable than it would appear. (25 years ago, 24-Jun-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Ideas for signal crossings

(...) TLG actually has a blinking light element. The 1x4 brick with 2 lamps lights solid with one polarity, and blinks with the other (I happened not to notice this when I built my 6979 Interstellar Starfighter, but when I was oohing and aahing over (...)   Re: Ideas for signal crossings

(...) Well, not signals for level crossings, but signals for signal towers and signal bridges. :-) Check (URL) for the basics of this 'work in progress'. I've done one mock-up, and then received some tips for simplifying it from a LUGNET reader, (...) (25 years ago, 23-Jun-99, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Train table construction and securing track

(...) I've had to deal with this in my roundhouse. (The 'securing track' part not the 'scenery below track level' so much.) Near the turntable, I've used the screw holes in the center tie to keep the rials aligned near the turntable itself. However, (...) (25 years ago, 23-Jun-99, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Train table construction and securing track

I've been working on building a roadbed for the track with plates. So far I've only got roadbed under 1 straight, 4 curves and then 2 more straights. It's looking pretty good so far but I've got a long way to go. I haven't been able to work on it (...) (25 years ago, 23-Jun-99, to lugnet.trains)

Shock absorber (was Re: New MOC:TGV in Orange

It's funny that it looks like the shock absorber has appeared mainly in applications it doesn't seem t be orginally intended for (shock absorber for small town cars). Maybe it was 'replaced' for this purpose by the dual axle spring loaded wheels (...) (25 years ago, 23-Jun-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Ideas for signal crossings

HI, I don't have any photos, but I have done afew things and need to find time to work on another idea. In my layout I have combined 9V and 12V, the latter to power lamp posts and crossings. The 7866 motorized crossing, as well as one built from (...) (25 years ago, 22-Jun-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: New MOC:TGV in Orange

(...) So far I've seen that shock absorber in 4559 Cargo Railway (the gates are sprung) and 2160 Crystal Scavenger (the "drill" arms can swing and are sprung). I'm only 95% sure of 2160 (it might have been another set I inventoried recently - need (...) (25 years ago, 22-Jun-99, to lugnet.trains)
