  Reminder - NILTC on Saturday!

Reminder - there's a Northern Illinois LEGO Train Club gathering tomorrow in Crystal Lake at Brian Williams' house. All are welcome - note his message at: (URL) you there!! -- Tim Courtney - tim@ldraw.org (URL) - Centralized LDraw Resources (23 years ago, 18-Aug-01, to lugnet.trains.org.niltc, lugnet.loc.us.il, lugnet.loc.us.il.chi, lugnet.loc.us.wi, lugnet.loc.us.in, lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: 10001&10002 Picts on line

I have found that LEGO printing leaves a lot to be desired these days. Quality control on this is not what it used to be. However I actually prefer the new angle stripes over the old curve style. Looks more modern or something. But i do hope it (...) (23 years ago, 18-Aug-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Mpegs uploaded for the TTOS Show!

I've added one more mpeg to the list. It's called Trolleyclosecall.mpg. heh heh. (...) Umm. It's a PDA. Here's a link (URL) >> I've been trying to do a sign to rotate EXACTLY like (...) The Diode Bridge allows the power to flow only one way regardless of what way the polarity is. It also cuts down on how much power comes though. (...) (23 years ago, 17-Aug-01, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc, lugnet.trains, lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.robotics)

  Question for model RR gurus

Why is it that there is such a huge chunk of the MRR hobby (both Lego and traditional) that puts sooooo much time into automation? My personal suspicion is that it's just because automation is cool and fun, but I'm not sure. A lot of the stuff that (...) (23 years ago, 17-Aug-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Mpegs uploaded for the TTOS Show!

(...) What's an iPAQ? (...) What does a diode do? I was planning on using a 9v motor with a train regulator, hopefully it will be as effective as what you did. (...) You just said you didn't have a 4565, but you did have a 4565...You've got me (...) (23 years ago, 17-Aug-01, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc, lugnet.trains, lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: My first MOCs

Looks like you have a good start on several interesting projects. The linear transfer table is of interest to me. It is similar to some of the projects I have worked on with my machines. I did not know that such a device was ever used by railroads. (...) (23 years ago, 17-Aug-01, to lugnet.trains)

  My first MOCs

Re: Mpegs uploaded for the TTOS Show!

(...) I did. It's an iPAQ 3670 in there. The iPAQ's screen and dimensions match LEGO studs perfectly. (...) The sign is a micro motor with the sign directly attached. But to get the speed to a good level I used a diode bridge and a zenfer diode (...) (23 years ago, 17-Aug-01, to lugnet.org.ca.vlc, lugnet.trains, lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: 10001&10002 Picts on line

(...) It doesn't even look like the stripes match up correctly. The picture is not hi-res enough to tell if it's just that the bricks aren't pushed all the way together. Bummer. Steve Martin IndyLUG (23 years ago, 17-Aug-01, to lugnet.trains)
