Re: Thanks to SCLTC and others

I took about 90 photos at the showing and requested Picture CD service. In the meantime, I'm picking up the 1 hour prints today and will go through them to post a few on Brickshelf this afternoon (best guess, 3:00pm pacific/6:00 eastern). Steve, (...) (23 years ago, 10-Aug-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Are LEGO "Train" Clubs endanger of becoming LEGO "Town" Clubs?

Point well taken James, but i think we should look at it another way also. Trains don't exist in a vacuum, the town and environs really set the time period and overall look of the entire layout. When non-train or lego buffs see the layout (...) (23 years ago, 10-Aug-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

Re: Are LEGO "Train" Clubs endanger of becoming LEGO "Town" Clubs?

James and All, (...) Well, I am talking from a MichLUG view, and the layouts I have seen at the shows, and of the various clubs who have had pictures and the like up. I don't think you can have an effective layout without some kind of scenery. If (...) (23 years ago, 10-Aug-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: Scale of Trains

(...) If you biuld them to 8-wide they are close, the normal Lego size (6-wide is smaller, close to S gauge. Josh (23 years ago, 10-Aug-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Scale of Trains

(...) At our last train show I was asked this repeatedly. It seems it's almost exactly European O gauge, being larger then North American O. Dean -- Dean Husby LUGNET Member #320 TFM's LEGO Workshop - www.akasa.bc.ca/tfm The Vancouver LEGO Club - (...) (23 years ago, 10-Aug-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Alright!

This is EXCELLENT! Our long wait is over! The GATS sounds like a good start to me. I got a look at the new web design in the works and thought it was great. Adrian BTW, I made an interesting call to SAH this week. If you have a backorder placed (...) (23 years ago, 10-Aug-01, to lugnet.trains.org.scltc)

  Scale of Trains

Are lego trains (those sold by LEGO) O Scale in terms of model railroad trains? -Ahui (23 years ago, 10-Aug-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Are LEGO "Train" Clubs endanger of becoming LEGO "Town" Clubs?

(...) Interesting question! I'm not sure how to answer it, though... As the GMLTC (slowly!) works on its new layout, we're building a lot of buildings for our 'downtown' area. Are we putting a lot of effort into them? Yep - but we put a lot of (...) (23 years ago, 10-Aug-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

Re: Surftip: cool new hopper design of MaBiDaTi©

(...) Thanks, the second one worked, great model they've got there. I like how the unloading bays look, kinda reminds me of the Huge Iron Ore Docks here in the US (great lakes to be exact). Josh (23 years ago, 10-Aug-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: New Train car MOCs!

(...) Bay Area that have the raised clamping bit on the ends. While they don't have the angled sidewall (you used low-slope roof bricks for that part), I really like the look, and it puts the clamps at the correct height. The design also makes good (...)
