I'd assert that the clearance needed on the inside is a function of the width of rolling stock and the maximum distance kingpin to kingpin (the longer a car, the more the center overhangs the inside of the curve). Any suggestions on a general rule as to how much space is prudent to leave on either side of track for a variety of trains to easily negotiate around curves? This is for NCLUG/NCLTC's upcoming GATS. Let me just first clear up a slight misconception... I wasn't trying to say that either Chris OR James were doing anything wrong with theier use of unofficial track models or anything like that.
