  DNS is now resolving

Yea! I have at least my ISP's DNS now resolving www.gmltc.org to the web server. Happiness..... It's still on my DSL connection, so no /. effects eh Ross? Now next is getting the mail server set.... -john 3 (jkelly69@skypoint.com is a refuge for (...) (24 years ago, 23-Feb-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

Would anyone buy bags of raw ABS from S@H for ore/ballast, grass, dirt...? All Earth Tones! SteveB PNLTC (24 years ago, 23-Feb-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Trainiacs can rejoice

(...) That's exactly what they do. It's a 2x2x2 slope, otherwise known as the "minifig dress piece" due to its occasional use in that role. eric (24 years ago, 23-Feb-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general)

  Re: Trainiacs can rejoice

(...) They're probably the 2x2x2 sloped brick aka 'minifig dress' element. James (24 years ago, 23-Feb-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general)

  Re: Trainiacs can rejoice

(...) They're not bulkpacks. They're just the old Service Packs (SPs) of wheels and buffers (though not forgetting the long wagon base kit). From an e-mail I got from S@H just before they went up on the website, they said they're looking at what (...) (24 years ago, 23-Feb-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general)

  Matt Bates

Does anyone have a working email address for Matt Bates -- of Matt's Train Depot fame? Thanks. (24 years ago, 23-Feb-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Trainiacs can rejoice

(...) Why "Coming April 23, 2001" while a lot of the train specific bulkpacks are available today? Perhaps in april we will see even more train-parts available? Then again, the train in the picture has new stickers so I guess there will be more to (...) (24 years ago, 23-Feb-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general)

  Re: Trainiacs can rejoice

(...) Ya know, as I dug through shop.lego.com, I realized that they probably just mean you can spend $1,000,000 buying separate bulk train packs and THEN build your own train. THAT makes more sense than something similar to the Mosaic. Matt (24 years ago, 23-Feb-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general)

  Re: Technic Tank Treads/Coveyer belt!

(...) Cool idea. Non LEGO(r) of course. dull Black sounds like it would look like coal, the most common hopper load in the US. Great tip! ++Lar (24 years ago, 23-Feb-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Automated 9V Switch/Points

I sued the right way to switch point, but the point never moves, only white gear in rotation, I used a Battery box to test it, is it any problems? BTW, does anyone know any other practical automated switch point else? Zhengrong (...) (24 years ago, 23-Feb-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.technic)

  Re: Trainiacs can rejoice

(...) Now before people get all excited about this, bear in mind that "customized" probably means you can change the color and one or two pieces. Just a few words of reason before things get stirred up. ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (24 years ago, 23-Feb-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general)

  Re: Technic Tank Treads/Coveyer belt!

(...) Facetted stringing beads behave nicely as bulk cargo on a partitioned belt of conveyor links and scoop well with the front-end bucket and backhoe. Find them in a craft shop among necklace stringing supplies. Sizes 5mm to 10mm work best A bead (...) (24 years ago, 23-Feb-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Trainiacs can rejoice

(...) Who cares? It's not like it isn't news :). So, Greg was a bit slow on picking up on it, he still did pick up on it (well before I get a S@H catalog too..."I'm going to be very angry indeed" if it is a US only item :). James (24 years ago, 22-Feb-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Supertrain Success - more pics

(...) Nice job on the long shots... that's one thing the Mavica doesn't go a great job on; it tends to pixilate too much for good long focus shots. You also got a shot that I didn't think to grab - the mountain in pieces: (URL) large chunk in the (...) (24 years ago, 22-Feb-01, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug, lugnet.trains, lugnet.trains.org)
