  Re: MOC: Brown Condos

(...) This marks the beginning of a New Town (...) Very Nice Mark, I definately see some tricks in there that I will be stealing.. er.. borrowing. I'm also using CC as the new standard for structure MOCs. Nice that you added a fire escape. One of my (...) (17 years ago, 30-May-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: MOC: Brown Condos

(...) Very well done. There is LOTS of detail in there. I love the lintels and all the different levels of texture you've been able to obtain. It definitely resembles a number of different buildings I now walk by on my way to work every morning. (my (...) (17 years ago, 30-May-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: A car a crane and a laughin lothario

(...) Thanks Tony. It is indeed a bracket. With an extra plate of space underneath I'd probably prefer to SNOT a 1x1 and plates but the bracket is the only option here (at least that I can think of). Tim (17 years ago, 24-May-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: A car a crane and a laughin lothario

(...) I love the SNOT work here. Is that a 1x2 to 2x2 bracket for the half-plate offset? Nice! (2 URLs) Tony Hafner (URL) www.hafhead.com> (17 years ago, 24-May-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  The return of floating boats!

When I was a kid I never got any of the LEGO town sets that had floating boats, but now LEGO has new ones! (URL) third one has been out for a while, but it's not quite the same thing) (17 years ago, 23-May-07, to lugnet.boats, lugnet.town, lugnet.announce)

Re: Module idea for new layout section

(...) Hey, you'll save a lot of money if you only pay to have Ross come-- I'm dead weight! (maybe good for a laugh or two:-) (...) PFFF...FFFTTTTT! ===...=== (wiping off monitor) You crack me up, Jonathan! :-) JOHN (17 years ago, 23-May-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: Module idea for new layout section

(...) Same here. I can put two or more plastic bricks together, but this is way over my head, along with any solution I am sure. I am quite thinking I'll be flying the Neal posse to NYC to (help me) set up mine. (...) Absolutely. Thanks very much, (...) (17 years ago, 23-May-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: Module idea for new layout section

(...) Aha, well, that looks very nice. Ross' approach was always assuming non-modification, using the RCX and available sensors. He might even use our new NXT if it helps him any over using the RCX. I don't pretend to understand all of this, but (...) (17 years ago, 23-May-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: Module idea for new layout section

(...) This is how mine works. The controller uses a motor-driven polarity switch and runs off the same controller power as the train. (2 URLs) Click> I modified the track to fit a diode. You could do it without too much modification though: put a (...) (17 years ago, 23-May-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: A car a crane and a laughin lothario

(...) Tim, I was just drooling over a Kubota mini-digger the other day. Walking the girlfriend to work, and there was this little digger parked by the park... I want one. Not a Lego one, a real one. I'd build sand castles and stuff. Highlighted with (...) (17 years ago, 22-May-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: A car a crane and a laughin lothario

(...) I am really liking this 5 wide van. I just love to look of the dk gray headlight bricks on their backs with the bleu-cheese slopes on them. It creates a cool grill look. Very nice. Best, Jonathan (17 years ago, 21-May-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: A car a crane and a laughin lothario

(...) This one is just too cute! I like how you used the screwdrivers to represent the hydraulics that move the digger arm. The shaft and handle makes a nice representation and seems to fit in scale very nicely. This is a much better use of a (...) (17 years ago, 21-May-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: Module idea for new layout section

(...) It sounds like a simple thing, but doing it is another thing entirely. Our solution at the NMRA wasn't ideal by any metric, and our ping-ponging effect at our last show was even more of a bust (different solution). Ross will be working on (...) (17 years ago, 21-May-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: Module idea for new layout section

(...) Thanks, John. Yes, I had the ping-pong scenario in mind for the surface trolley (at least) and was going to check out how you and Ross did it at NMRA. As for the subway, hmmm, we'll talk more the Detroit. The wheels are turning in my head. (...) (17 years ago, 21-May-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: Module idea for new layout section

(...) This is exciting news, Jonathan, and reminds me of how the TCLTC layout got started-- section by section. I have only one suggestion to throw out to you for consideration-- how about building up 17 1/3 studs and putting in a ping-ponging (...) (17 years ago, 21-May-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)
