After waay too long I finally put the finishing touches on my fire station
for the GMLTC town/train layout tonight. Now to get a sunny day so I can get
some quality outdoor pictures of the fire apparatus housed here.

I know now to never again make a large building an odd number of studs wide :P

The left side of the building is blank because it will be butted up against
another building on the layout. The second story right side of the building
is waiting for the skyway that will connect it across the street to my as
yet unbuilt police headquarters. The firepole runs all 3 floors and is made
out of a bunch of the straight chrome exhaust tubes over one long technic
flex tube.
This was built for the most part from Conan's collection but I couldn't find
a few things I wanted for details (I know-hard to believe) so I will
update/finish with parts from my home stash.
I'm working on an even bigger public safety center at home not constrained
by the size of the streets/blocks in the GMLTC layout.

Please LMKWYT  :)

William, this is a beautiful building. Excellent details from the cobblestone tiles of the sidewalk all the way up to the clock tower. I particularly like the vertical indents of the archways separating the front garage doors, the SNOT 1x1 tiles (...) (22 years ago, 21-Jun-02, to lugnet.town)

(...) Great work Bill. I really like the cornice. With the minifig legs you certainly get some neat details. I like how you have the castle gate pieces recessed. It should be interesting to see this in the layout connected to the police station. (...) (22 years ago, 21-Jun-02, to lugnet.town)

(...) Very nice. You have incorporated some very nice details into this building. I like the red 1x1 tiles on the face of the building & the columns btwn the bay doors. The cornice and top section is a little much for my taste, but overall a very (...) (22 years ago, 21-Jun-02, to lugnet.town)
