Hello,

I wanted some 'Jonathan time' on Fathers Day, so I spent an hour or so
building a couple of new facades for my planned town layout.
This is the link to the Brickshelf folder. The new buildings are the red ones.

I like how the tiles look on the facade on the building to the right. The
building to the left was inspired by the many Irish pubs in the city.

Lots and lots of texture you've built up! I give you my pros and cons report:

Things that work great:

Nice ground floor development throughout the avenue
Multi-slope awnings
Siamese (fire hose)
Extreme slope base works, good proportion, when your windows are 9 high!
Half-stud cantilevering for the cornices
Corner stones go all the way up
Brown half-arches over windows; the horizontal stripes makes this work (also
my favorite colors)
Decent variety between floors (just like the real thing)
Green mostly-windows retail site!

Huh?
tan post in nyctwo.jpg? Is that a steam pipe or an advertisement? Maybe an
obelisk would look more signy.

Would like to see:

A little junk on the walls: Air conditioners, fire escapes... (ok it's 5th ave)
A street level flag or two
Some greebles for the cornice of black 1x2x3 inverse extreme slopes; maybe a
modified 1x1 plate
More awnings (how about a round-top one)
More window sills

Close enough:
I'd say "there are no droids on 5th avenue!" but, we did encounter one on
Broadway.

Future suggestions for New Yorkiness:

Embassy and consulate buildings (with flags)
Mansion with one turret
Odd Tudor style
2nd story business and occasional street level entrances
Penthouse and trees

Local Color Ideas:
Street vendor cart (now there's an untapped vehicle)
Whereza pigeons?
A pack of police cruisers (4) or tow trucks (3-4)

Fantastic street going there Jonathan!
