  Re: Purist Question

(...) When building microfig styled Lego towns, I tend to integrate both the lego and non lego items so they kind of mix. Usually, though, I get a hold of those model trees and grass landscaping stuff (it's kind of hard to describe) at the hobby (...) (23 years ago, 10-Apr-02, to lugnet.town, lugnet.general)

  Re: Purist Question

(...) LEGO catalogues of old feature illustrations of exactly this - very naive style rolling hills in only slightly subdued colours. That means I've been authentic and professional! Check out the gallery photos of the NBLTC www.nbltc.org - (bridge (...) (23 years ago, 9-Apr-02, to lugnet.town, lugnet.general)

  Re: New MOC: Michigan Theater

(...) The inspiration for the interior came from the Redford Theater in Detroit... (URL) it was a good town use for those extra 6093s and 6088s I had lying around. I think this was the first time I've really done any sort of floor pattern. The (...) (23 years ago, 9-Apr-02, to lugnet.town)

X-post & FUT lugnet.town (...) group. I cross-post this to lugnet.town and set the follow up there too. Please change if it does not belong there either (I'm not to familiar with all these non-Technic groups). Regards, /Tobbe (URL) (23 years ago, 9-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.town)

  X-Large Train Station MOC

Hi all, Inspired by Mark's amazing Union Station, I decided my town needed a large train station too. I've been working on it for a few days now, and it is taking shape. It's not based on any real station; I usually just start building and see what (...) (23 years ago, 9-Apr-02, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.trains, lugnet.town)

  Re: Purist Question

(...) A very great deal of time, I suspect. LOL. I have zero interest in MB. MB just don't hang together, I was at a friends house (in Mass) who had the big sub model... was helping them build it (to be nice... AFTER making many dispariging remarks) (...) (...) You're sliding down the slippery slope-- it's just a matter of time before you reach bottom (at the bottom is when you mix MBs with LEGO;-) -John (23 years ago, 9-Apr-02, to lugnet.town, lugnet.general)

  Re: Purist Question

(...) Indoors, no. Outdoors, probably. But I'm no longer particularly purist... I've printed my own stickers and cut my own string! (but no cutting elements, thank you!) (23 years ago, 9-Apr-02, to lugnet.town, lugnet.general)

  Purist Question

If you were going to build large miniland layouts (a la Legoland) but at minifig scale, would you use non-Lego landscaping? Anyone doing large scale landscaping that mixes Lego and non-Lego as they do at Legoland? e.g. non-Lego mountain, but with (...) (23 years ago, 9-Apr-02, to lugnet.town, lugnet.general)
