During a recent cleanout of my lego magazines I found some early 90's ones.
What happened to the town models between 1990 and 1995?
They seemed to be more detailed than the 1999/2000 models.
There was also more peices too.

| (...) This degradation of current Lego sets is called "juniorization". Lego wants to target kids of younger ages and makes the sets with less pieces and less complex which makes the sets supposedly easier to put together for younger kids. It is not (...) (25 years ago, 10-Jan-00, to lugnet.town)
