Re: Is bigger better? Or is detail what counts?

(...) I'd say yeah, i love seeing towns with lots of detail, & large buildings can have lots of detail to them. I've been shooting for a middle ground with mine, with larger buildings, but yet enough detail to make it all look good. Josh (23 years ago, 3-Sep-01, to lugnet.town)

Is bigger better? Or is detail what counts?

Throughout my time as a Lego city builder, I have noticed that there are (roughly) two different types of towns. One kind has very large buildings, with grand skylines. It is bold and makes a great impression on people. Some examples include the (...) (23 years ago, 3-Sep-01, to lugnet.town)

Actually, in the second book, The date is revealed.. the story for the second book takes place around 1991, which means the rest would be the following years. Later! -Jay (...) (23 years ago, 2-Sep-01, to lugnet.harrypotter, lugnet.space, lugnet.castle, lugnet.town)

  Re: Baseplate Stripe Color Match

(...) well, it will affect WET paint, but other then that, no. I've used it many times, its also great for getting stickers off the bricks with out leaving a mark. You should be able to find it at Wal*mart, or even craft stores... Josh (23 years ago, 2-Sep-01, to lugnet.town)

  Re: Baseplate Stripe Color Match

Just take an undamaged baseplate down to the paint department of your local home improvement superstore and have them put it under the color-match scanner. Their computer will calculate the formula, and they can mix the quantity you need. You do (...) (23 years ago, 2-Sep-01, to lugnet.town)

A British car buff familiar with Ford products may be able to pin it even more accurately because the Weaselys (in book 2) have a Ford Anglia that is referred to as "old" and "rusty" but not "antique".   Re: Baseplate Stripe Color Match

(...) I only used soap and water. Apparently, the soap was strong enough to remove parts of the stripe (and/or the cloth I used was too rough.) Does Goo Gone affect the paint at all? Erik (23 years ago, 2-Sep-01, to lugnet.town)

(...) lol, what'd you do, paint remover!? I find Goo Gone to work good on cleaning. well, i'm sorry i've never tested the green, i'd tryed the grey once, but never really got it. Josh (23 years ago, 2-Sep-01, to lugnet.town)

  Baseplate Stripe Color Match

Does anyone know of a paint brand/color (or formula) that matches the green used for the stripes on the grey baseplates? (I discovered the wrong way to clean baseplates, and need to restore the stripes on one.) Thanks, Erik (23 years ago, 1-Sep-01, to lugnet.town)
