David Lairson wrote in message ... (...) Yes, there's a preferred style - whatever YOU prefer :-) Myself, I like to build realistically, but I still enjoy looking at other people's lego-set-style buildings and layouts. Lego-set-style does use fewer (...) (23 years ago, 26-Jun-01, to lugnet.town)

  Town Style

Hi All, I'm working hard getting my town/train setup and after visiting a number of other peoples town sites I got to thinking. There are two different styles at work, one is a realistic style, makeing the buildings, etc.. as realistic as possible, (...) (23 years ago, 26-Jun-01, to lugnet.town)

  Re: Office Building

(...) Thanks, Brad. I wanted a lot more greenery behind the diamond window, but didn't have time before the con to place it all. If I'm able to make the space green enough to be seen from the outside, the clear windows will make more sense. Chris (...) (23 years ago, 26-Jun-01, to lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.town)

  Re: Office Building

(...) That's my impression, too. For a fraction of a second, as the page first appeared, I thought I was looking at a real building. And in some ways, that could be the biggest compliment I could pay to a Lego structure! (23 years ago, 26-Jun-01, to lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.town)

  Re: Office Building

Very Nice! I'm glad to see more folks building town stuff! I really like the white with the trans-blue windows. It can be tricky mixing trans-blue with the clear, but I think you pulled it off nicely! The diamond window is a nice touch. Amy Hughes (...)   Re: Office Building

Brilliant! I dont comment on many MOCs, but this one deserves it. I love the diamond window, and I think the overall structure is very bold. The building looks to me like a building that might have REALLY been built. Excellent. -Dave Amos (URL) (23 years ago, 25-Jun-01, to lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.town)

  Re: Office Building

(...) Great looking, and i never realized Michlug has a webpage now, i should get around to that newsgroup more often. I'm a loner up here in Upper MI. Oh well, guess i could claim my lego town as the furthest north Lego town in MI, on the web. Josh (23 years ago, 25-Jun-01, to lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.town)

Ho - Leeeeee Smoke! That is Sharp! Really cool with the diamond window in the centre. If I may be so bold, how many (approximately, no need to totally expose your purchasing habits if you don't want to) window packs went into it? Again, Yowza! (...)   Re: Final weeks for Sixby Fire Tech

Jeff, I too am sad to hear this news. Your pumpers got me started with 6-wide vehicles, and I made a 6-wide city bus after that. Since I had no 6-wide winshields (before Soccer Bus) I used a 4-wide and a 2x1x2 thin wall, which gives it character. I (...) (23 years ago, 24-Jun-01, to lugnet.town)
