  Re: New Fire Station

Hi Greg, Thanks, I am glad you like it. I have been using the castle doors for awhile now, I think they give the stations a "rustic" look. I haven't quite done the interior yet. I have 9 stations built, and two complete interiors, and just don't (...) (23 years ago, 20-Jun-01, to lugnet.town)

  Re: New Fire Station

(...) Tom, I LOVE this station. It reminds me of one of my first, and therefore favorite sets, Engine Co. #9. I dig your use of castle doos and all the other little details. When are we going to get interior pics? GREG~ (23 years ago, 19-Jun-01, to lugnet.town)

  Re: New Fire Station

I've made rear-mount towers in the past, but in order for them to fit in the stations, the bucket has to pretty much cover the front window, so I went with the mid-mounts. I like the mid-mounts because they allow the trucks to get closer to the (...) (23 years ago, 19-Jun-01, to lugnet.town)

  Re: New Fire Station

(...) That looks cool, I also lloked at the other images, I noticed you have a midship airel platform truck, I've noticed that lots of poeple have midships now, which is amazing to me, when all of the Sixby & Woodchuck thucks are stern mounted. (...) (23 years ago, 19-Jun-01, to lugnet.town)

Re: Pics of my small-town buildings

Thanks for the kind words. But I can only take credit for the foreground buildings pictured. The layout as a whole was done by our club, WAMALUG, for a recent train show. If you want more information on the layout (and more pics) check out this (...) (23 years ago, 19-Jun-01, to lugnet.town)

Re: Pics of my small-town buildings

To echo others comments, these are really great, Greg. There is something distinctly different about the oveall appearance of the layout protrayed in these photos ---- as others have mentioned, I think it has to do with your composition as a whole. (...) (23 years ago, 19-Jun-01, to lugnet.town)

  NMRA National Show

Is there any group going to display at this show? The way they are touting it, it seems to be a bigger deal. If so I live 15-20 miles from the venue let me know I might be able to help (wife permitting). I have tried to setup a group here but to no (...) (...) like the church windows and doorway, the train station colors and roof support, and the small-town-ness of the white shop. Well-balanced use of space, too. Many displays have too many roads. Amy (23 years ago, 18-Jun-01, to lugnet.town)

  Pics of my small-town buildings

Just a note to show off some MOCs (row houses, a church, train station, and a couple "main street" style stores): (URL) were included as part of the Wamalug display at a recent train show. Pics were taken by Dan Boger (thanks Dan!). Most of the (...) (23 years ago, 18-Jun-01, to lugnet.town) !
