Re: best official pick-up truck model?

(...) The unfortunate downside is that this design, while being almost exactly what I wanted to do for the Pizza Planet truck, is impossible to build without the cap over the bed. The most significant issue is that the B pillars on the back of the (...) (14 years ago, 29-Dec-10, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: best official pick-up truck model?

(...) this is a great model that has the feel of what i'm looking for, but i'm looking for something that is minifig size (admittedly a tricky request due to the scale). ..joseph g (14 years ago, 28-Dec-10, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: best official pick-up truck model?

(...) Other than the Toy Story truck already posted, here's the closest I could find for "official" models: (URL) sure if they're all really "pickup trucks" per se, but close. DaveE (14 years ago, 28-Dec-10, to lugnet.town)

Re: best official pick-up truck model?

(...) thanks for the response and your design (nice job!). your sample is exactly what i have in mind...something that gives the 'feel' of a cab and bed. ..jg (14 years ago, 27-Dec-10, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: best official pick-up truck model?

(...) Offhand, I'd say...none of them. I can't think of any 6-wide pickups that have ever been released. The closest would be the SUV from the horse trailer set. (...) Well...I do have a design that's out of this world: (URL) (14 years ago, 24-Dec-10, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  best official pick-up truck model?

question for the town fans, what's the best 'official' (part of an official set) pick-up truck that lego has released for minifigs? stuck in traffic, i got to looking at the cars around me and couldn't remember lego ever releasing a pick-up truck (...)   Re: Lounge Chair

(...) Nice work. Have you tried building them with the central element studs-down? It might give a more smooth look. Play well, Jacob (14 years ago, 30-Nov-10, to lugnet.town)

  Ice Skates!

This idea popped into my head at work, so I sketched it & later quickly rendered it in LDD: (URL) I originally thought of using 'tooth' or short 'blade' pieces, for the skate blades, but this solution fit the scale & looks better, and it lets one (...)   Re: Microscale truss bridge

(...) Indeed I might 8?) If you need to extend it, you can just butt plates end to end along the top without joining them and it would probably look OK. ROSCO (14 years ago, 19-Oct-10, to lugnet.build.microscale, lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: Speed Racer Mach 5 - Better then the Lego set

I'm kind of annoyed at myself that I didn't reply to this sooner. I mean, I saw it way back when you posted, but somehow I forgot to hit the REPLY button. Excellent work, and I agree with you that it's superior to the official model. Nicely done! (14 years ago, 15-Oct-10, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: Microscale truss bridge

(...) For this length, I think it might look better with 1x10 plate for the top beam, and dropping the 1x4 plates on the bottom completely, leaving the bridge deck to form the bottom beam. - But then I wouldn't be able to reuse the design for a (...)   Re: Microscale truss bridge

  Re: More urban grit

These are EXCELLENT, Jonathan. The peeling layers and broken windows on the New York building are masterful. And I lived in Baltimore for a few years (never saw The Wire, though). You nailed the look of the old row houses in a run-down part of the (...) (14 years ago, 1-Oct-10, to lugnet.town)

  Re: More urban grit

(...) Thanks! (...) I am not planning on doing more, but you're absolutely correct. The proto's I used had unaligned windows on each floor. It looked 'wrong' to me when I built them that way. I have a nasty habit of having my windows lined up on (...) (14 years ago, 1-Oct-10, to lugnet.town)
