  Ice Skates!

This idea popped into my head at work, so I sketched it & later quickly rendered it in LDD: (URL) I originally thought of using 'tooth' or short 'blade' pieces, for the skate blades, but this solution fit the scale & looks better, and it lets one (...)   Re: Microscale truss bridge

(...) Indeed I might 8?) If you need to extend it, you can just butt plates end to end along the top without joining them and it would probably look OK. ROSCO (14 years ago, 19-Oct-10, to lugnet.build.microscale, lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: Microscale truss bridge

(...) You might say that it looks better that way: (URL) Play well, Jacob -- (URL) Jacob's LEGO> (14 years ago, 18-Oct-10, to lugnet.build.microscale, lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: Speed Racer Mach 5 - Better then the Lego set

I'm kind of annoyed at myself that I didn't reply to this sooner. I mean, I saw it way back when you posted, but somehow I forgot to hit the REPLY button. Excellent work, and I agree with you that it's superior to the official model. Nicely done! (14 years ago, 15-Oct-10, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: Microscale truss bridge

(...) For this length, I think it might look better with 1x10 plate for the top beam, and dropping the 1x4 plates on the bottom completely, leaving the bridge deck to form the bottom beam. - But then I wouldn't be able to reuse the design for a (...)   Re: Microscale truss bridge

(...) Nice! Would it look better with a 1x10 for the top & bottom beams instead of 1x4s? ROSCO (14 years ago, 7-Oct-10, to lugnet.build.microscale, lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: More urban grit

These are EXCELLENT, Jonathan. The peeling layers and broken windows on the New York building are masterful. And I lived in Baltimore for a few years (never saw The Wire, though). You nailed the look of the old row houses in a run-down part of the (...) (14 years ago, 1-Oct-10, to lugnet.town)

  Re: More urban grit

(...) Thanks! (...) I am not planning on doing more, but you're absolutely correct. The proto's I used had unaligned windows on each floor. It looked 'wrong' to me when I built them that way. I have a nasty habit of having my windows lined up on (...) (14 years ago, 1-Oct-10, to lugnet.town)

  Re: More urban grit

(...) I got to see these in person and the photos do not do them justice. Great stuff! Russell (14 years ago, 1-Oct-10, to lugnet.town)

  Re: More urban grit

(...) Excellent work as usual. The fire stairs are particularly cool. Are you planning to do any more row houses? I love the ones where the top and bottom floors are unaligned eg. (URL) You should come play at flickr ;) Tim (14 years ago, 1-Oct-10, to lugnet.town)

  More urban grit

I have had these buildings built for a while but neglected to post them for whatever reason. I brought them to Bricks By The Bay, in SF last spring: A three floor walk-up based on one in Long Island City, Queens: (URL) style row houses, inspired by (...)   Edmonton House

I built this model a couple of months ago, but hadn't gotten around to taking any pictures. So, I took it out this morning, took pictures, and made a web page. It's my version of a house in the style of early large brick houses of the area. See: (...) (14 years ago, 8-Aug-10, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.town)

  Re: Row Houses

(...) I love the background stories of the people that live in this rowhouse. That adds alotta depth and uniqueness to the build. Good work. Wish I could come out and see it at the show! Dave K (14 years ago, 26-Jul-10, to lugnet.town)

  Row Houses

NALUG's display at this year's Great Edmonton Train Show is currently planned to be one that spans from England to India (letting us use things like the Taj Mahal and Eiffel Tower sets). Hi. I haven't posted anything on Lugnet or brickshelf in 2 years, but thought those of you that like building minifig or microscale vehicles would be able to use this. (URL) Bell (15 years ago, 27-Apr-10, to lugnet.town)
