Hello all,
I build for the first time my MISB 8480 Space Shuttle yesterday.
Needless to say, awesome set.
I was very careful when I built it to make sure that there was no friction
whatsoever between the gears and axles, so the only friction came from the
rubber bands and the Optic Fiber module itself.
My question is: is it normal that the "rotation" of the light in the fibers
is so slow? It rotates about twice every three seconds.

| (...) I can't really remember how fast it was, but I do remember mine occasionally got "stuck" and stopped turning due to friction. So I fiddled around with the whole back section squeezing bricks together, making sure axles lined up etc, and after (...) (22 years ago, 16-Dec-02, to lugnet.technic)

| (...) That is about the speed I have always gotten with it. I think the FOS light module itself has a tad too much friction in it. If it is manually operated (as in 8456) it works fine, but when motorized it goes a bit slow, and the fact that so (...) (22 years ago, 17-Dec-02, to lugnet.technic)
