| | Pneumatic Air Compressor not working. Suggestions needed. Todd A. Schroeder
|
| | My CAT 797 Mining Truck is near completion. Everything works the way I wanted accept for the air compressor. I bought new pneumatic parts from PLD and tested my mechanism with the large hand held pump. Everything worked fine so I built a few (...) (23 years ago, 4-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

| | | | (...) I am guessing that your compressor is stalling out before you get enough pressure. The pressure in the compressor is high enough to react the torque of the motor. The fact that you have better results using one cylinder instead of two supports (...) (23 years ago, 5-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

| | | | One more thing that I forgot to mention. If you don't use the full stroke of the pump cylinder when pumping, make sure you position the cylinder so that you "bottom out" when the piston is fully retracted. Air will only flow from the atmosphere into (...) (23 years ago, 6-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

| | | | (...) This is not really true. I think that Boyles gas law is (boy, high school physics was a long time ago): Pressure * Volume = c * Temperature Where c is some constant of proportionality. Plus I think that this assumes some "ideal gas". Real (...) (23 years ago, 7-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)
