I can't answer your question, but there's one other thing you might also
try. There is a third type of shock absorber with a spring rate in between
the light gray and yellow shocks. These are the dark-gray* shocks. They
may turn out to be sufficient for your purpose, and may be easier to
obtain.
*Also come in red, but are much rarer.
