Re: springless pneumatic pump —Soh Chio Siong
(...) I guess I'd better own up to prevent more people wasting their time and effort trying to remove the spring from the large hand pump. I think we have all been badly misled by the picture of the Recycler on the bottom of the RIS 1.0 box which (...) (23 years ago, 30-Apr-01, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

Re: springless pneumatic pump —Dean Husby
(...) Agree'd, I'd destroyed mine when I snipped off the spring only to have it not work well at all. I have a great 4 pump motor pack now. PSI! Dean -- Coin-Op's For Sale!: (URL) Lego Workshop: (URL) Lego Club: (URL) (23 years ago, 30-Apr-01, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

Re: springless pneumatic pump —Tom Heverly
Yea, I kinda figured the big punp wasn't too good for the compresor pump. I did see that on your page, but I figured I'd try it anyhow. Part of my problem (and I'm kinda ashamed to say it) is that is actually the only pump I own, large or small. (...) (23 years ago, 30-Apr-01, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

Re: springless pneumatic pump —Soh Chio Siong
(...) Hey, console yourself! It's not as useless as you think. In fact, the large pump worked by hand is the most efficient of all. Only thing you gotta supply the energy :-) (23 years ago, 30-Apr-01, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

Re: springless pneumatic pump —Gaurav Thakur
(...) LOL yup...if you have a fast and powerful hand you can create a ton of pressure within seconds with this... BTW I recently acquired a pack of two small pumps for $10US from the Dacta site...so this might be a solution if you're looking for the (...)          Re: springless pneumatic pump —Tom Heverly
(...) Yea, it does seem to work well manually, I was just trying to get some of that mechnized action out of it. It's all about the tinkerin'. =) I saw the pumps on the Dacta site, but I'm afraid the finance committee (wife) has put a spending (...)          Re: springless pneumatic pump —Matthias Jetleb
(...) You have failed to point out that moving involves a lot of heavy lifting. This can be reduced significantly by placing heavy objects on air-cushioned platforms. Air-cushioned platforms require air pumps. Purchase justified. Matthias Jetleb (...) (23 years ago, 1-May-01, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

Re: springless pneumatic pump —Greg Majewski
(...) Agreed... Large pumps suck at being motorized. But has anyone ever tried mounting one to a piston-like assembly? Maybe something that pushes and pulls it much like a human hand would. I have been wondering for a while if this would be better (...) (23 years ago, 2-May-01, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)
