To get to the gears, you need to open up the micromotor from the other
side, the round side.
If you look at the black round part (the part that's supposed to spin
around when powered), you will see a red ring around it. Use a thin
knife to pry this red ring off, by prying the outside diameter of the
red ring. Once you get the red ring off, the rest should come out quite
easily, perhaps so easy that you'll lose parts if you're not careful.

| Ok, I'm gonna jump right in here and ask: any ideas how I get at the workings in a 9v motor that has the gear reduction?? ie: a mindstorms motor? Gary Henry OneTimeCRX <hchea@kungstorget.nu> wrote in message news:3AA9A840.5DB17E...rget.nu... (...) (24 years ago, 10-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic)

I've got a micromotor that won't unjam (who doesn't :-), and I figure a look inside can't hurt. But I can't get the thing (...) (24 years ago, 10-Mar-01, to lugnet.technic)
