Re: 8002 Droid Amendment book, here's how to keep your head on :)

If you dig back in the archives a couple of weeks to my original description of the amendments I explained it. The original instructions erroneously show the rubber bands on the bottom. They are shown on the top throughout the rest of the book. (...) (25 years ago, 18-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.starwars)

(...) Dont forget that we didnt know about the power puller and such untill later in the year so it might be the same for 2001. (25 years ago, 20-Jan-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Force, strenght, did anyone ever measure?

I've never measured it, but if someone can find a value for the elastic modulus of ABS it'd be easy to calculate a rough estimate of how much the force the teeth can take. -Xanthra47 "Duq" <Duq@nlgateway.net> wrote in message (...) (25 years ago, 18-Jan-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.technic)

(...) Actually the change here is the top picture. The subsection is upside-down and the rubber band is on the bottom rather than the top. I'm not sure if this was ammended before my copy was produced or not. I did the ammendments that you had put, (...) (25 years ago, 18-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.starwars)

If you can, use a worm to drive the rack; you'll be better off. It'll take more load and if some of the other stages in your gear train break or slip (You'll want to have a belt stage in there somewhere so you won't break things anyway), the rack (...)   Re: 8880 Pleasure.....

Yep. The 8880 is a truly awesome set. I just wish I could find some replacement parts to fix mine : ( Whatever you do, don't let those ultra-rare suspension parts out of your sight ! The only way to get more is to buy another supercar, since parting (...) (25 years ago, 18-Jan-01, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.reviews, lugnet.technic)

The CV's on a car are a little more complicated but work pretty much the same way as the LEGO(R) ones. BTW, CV stands for constant velocity. (...)   8002 Droid Amendment book, here's how to keep your head on :)

There was a discussion about a month ago on addendums to the 8002 Droid instruction book. I got a second copy of 8002 Droid today, and inside I found an amendment book. It is Part # 4131258. On the cover is labeled "Amendment sheets for improved (...) (25 years ago, 18-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.starwars)

  Re: 8880 Pleasure.....

(...) The 8880 is definitely one of the great sets, apart from the chain. I agree that the chain slips (quite often I find) but my main objection to the chain is simply my feeling that it should not be there at all. How many cars really have a chain (...)
