Re: Backlash in Lego Gear Trains

(...) Yes, I think so. In fact, I think they have significantly more friction when grinding than the "old" gears. And by the way, when using both the new and old style gears in a gear train, I find that there is almost too much friction. Do anybody (...) (25 years ago, 10-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic)

(...) The Pitsco-DACTA on-line store has them. (URL) Look under [Spare Parts, Tools & Resources]>[LEGO Dacta Spare Parts]>[Motors].   Re: Micro-motors and fiber optics

(...) Yes indeed, this can be a bit of a pain at times. However, there always seems to be a way round it somehow! I ordered one of the service packs from Dacta (9959) the other day, price around 6 UKP, which seems to have the top and bottom pieces (...) (25 years ago, 11-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Lego Power Pulling in 1998?

In my research on the topic of Tractor Pulling, I discovered the following web site: (URL). (URL) contains lots of good background information.   Re: Any Ideas= 8448 and 4 wheel steering?

(...) The problem with using u-joints is that as the angle increases, the output becomes more "jumpy" relative to the input. This is why real cars (and the 8880) use CV joints. With suspension, it's OK, because you can use two u-joints to cancel (...) (25 years ago, 10-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: How rare is...

(...) Hmm. I'm not a Technic-head, and I haven't actually sat down and played with the ABS to know how well this would work, but here goes an idea...
