(...) It escapes me at the moment just what kind of parts are "airplane parts". Since you are posting in lugnet.technic, I guess that you are not refering to black wing shaped plates. If you could clarify this, perhaps someone can help you to find a (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-00, to lugnet.technic)

I think this is an understatement. I think it would be a huge challenge to build something strong enough. A piano key, however, would be a really cool project. I saw a diagram of one once, and I thought about trying to build a Lego model of a single (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-00, to lugnet.technic)

Hmmm. I imagine a piano action wouldn't be out of the question, either. The main problem I can see is with the strings - if you're looking at 4 octaves, thats 48 fairly tight strings, which is going to put a fair bit of strain on whatever base you (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-00, to lugnet.technic)

Myself being a keyboardist, I've been seriously considering making a single manual harpsichord (with the strings non-LEGO, of course). I've worked out workable mechanisms for the key action. However, it'll take a while to collect the parts for 4 (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-00, to lugnet.technic)
