Re: RIS 2.0 - when, where, what??

Yeah, that was Jin Sato's. It's featured in his book on Mindstorms, and on his site: (...) (25 years ago, 28-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.technic)

Re: RIS 2.0 - when, where, what??

I don't think so - I seem to remember seeing this somewhere before, built with a humble RCX 1.0/5. Actually, if you look closely, you'll see it contains 2 RCXs, one below the other on an angle. Not much chance of TLC including 2 with the set.... (...) (25 years ago, 28-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.technic)

  Re: BIONICLE!

The last two have limbs that might be interesting for castle lego. (you could create an elf hero with a magical green axe, for instance). Kopaka's head might be useful for some space MOCs. That ugly flame SPUD *might* be useful as ornamentation in (...) (25 years ago, 28-Nov-00, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.year.2001)

Re: RIS 2.0 - when, where, what??

Oh, wow!! If that set is even half as good as it looks in the picture, that will be one set everyone will be scrambling to pick up!! Mind you, I do hope they don't expect to put a $390 price tag on it and expect people to pay that much for it!! Mind (...) (25 years ago, 28-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.technic)

  Re: Adjustable 4 wheel steering

James, I stand corrected!! I haven't investigated steam engines thoroughly, but I used to like taking rides in the old traction engines at shows when I was a kid. And back then I seemed to take a lot more in...... But I do remeber that the driver (...) (25 years ago, 28-Nov-00, to lugnet.technic)

Re: RIS 2.0 - when, where, what??

Take a look at (URL). See the dog? Is it MIBO? If we can really build that dog out of the box, then RIS 2.0 might as well be the best Technic Universal set Lego has ever released. Look at the rotation sensor, the shock absorbers, and all those turn (...) (25 years ago, 27-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.technic)

  Re: Adjustable 4 wheel steering

(...) Interesting subject. I have been trying to simulate a Valve Gear with technic elements and I can say that the Walcharts valve gear is difficult to model because of the curved expansion arm. Any ideas how to do this with Lego elements? BTW a (...) (25 years ago, 27-Nov-00, to lugnet.technic)
