  Re: Motor Sticking

Gaurav, Certainly isn't in my case, these motors are stalled so bad I can't get them to move at all now unless I stick a 24t gear on them and turn them by hand. Even then it requires considerable force. The cables I've tried on these motors work (...) (25 years ago, 2-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.technic)

Re: When will the new sets be available outside of North America?

(...) Given that this set has been available in australia for the past few weeks and us ozzies always get lego next to last I would say that it should be available everywhere. (25 years ago, 2-Nov-00, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.technic)

When will the new sets be available outside of North America?

Hi! Usually I dont' have any hopes that LEGO sets arrive here before the date in the catalog (and the catalog hasn't been spotted in Germany AFAIK), and even the wonder with the MTT (available at my local TRU a few days before hit the US) didn't (...)   Re: Rant...

There is a special part in that rant I specially like, namely 'let jennifer do the design'. I have seen many many wonderfull designs by people whom post on lugnet and these would make some great sets. And the strongest asset of Lego is the community (...) (...) but they are still blindsided by the extra-technical group. The age distribution of Lego users has a huge long tail that extends into the adult range. Although these people are far from the peak of the demographic, I think our combined numbers (...) (25 years ago, 1-Nov-00, to lugnet.technic)

Here is the link to a photo (decided this was easier than a rendering!) of a fairly compact solution. (URL) (25 years ago, 1-Nov-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Motor Sticking

(...) This might sound a bit silly, but it could be your electric cables. I also have a bunch of motors (most are 3-4 years old, one is 7 years old) and I use quite a bit. As far as I have noticed, they haven't had any problems. However, I have (...) (25 years ago, 1-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.technic)

  Re: Steering and driving.

This thread encouraged me to have another play at making a compact steer & drive setup, something which I have tried many times over the years. However, I had not had another attempt since taking on a load of 'modern era' lego in the last year! I (...) (25 years ago, 1-Nov-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Steering and driving.

(...) I wasn't too clear myself, so no worries. Take a normal LEGO steering setup, e.g. like on 8660. When turning the steering wheels, they turn around the pivot point, that is the centre of the pin which connects into the end holes of the 1x8 (...) (25 years ago, 1-Nov-00, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Steering and driving.

(...) Oh, yes. Sorry I should have meantioned that. More like the wheels from the Tow Truck or the BarCode truck since I don't have six supercar wheels, hey I do have to eat :) This is the chassis that made me realize that I needed steering _and_ (...) (25 years ago, 1-Nov-00, to lugnet.technic)
