Hi! Usually I dont' have any hopes that LEGO sets arrive here before the date in the catalog (and the catalog hasn't been spotted in Germany AFAIK), and even the wonder with the MTT (available at my local TRU a few days before hit the US) didn't (...) There is a special part in that rant I specially like, namely 'let jennifer do the design'. I have seen many many wonderfull designs by people whom post on lugnet and these would make some great sets. And the strongest asset of Lego is the community (...) (25 years ago, 1-Nov-00, to lugnet.technic)

Here is the link to a photo (decided this was easier than a rendering!) of a fairly compact solution. (URL) (25 years ago, 1-Nov-00, to lugnet.technic)

As far as I have noticed, they haven't had any problems. However, I have (...) (25 years ago, 1-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.technic)

This thread encouraged me to have another play at making a compact steer & drive setup, something which I have tried many times over the years. However, I had not had another attempt since taking on a load of 'modern era' lego in the last year! I (...) (25 years ago, 1-Nov-00, to lugnet.technic)

(...) I wasn't too clear myself, so no worries. Take a normal LEGO steering setup, e.g. like on 8660. When turning the steering wheels, they turn around the pivot point, that is the centre of the pin which connects into the end holes of the 1x8 (...) (25 years ago, 1-Nov-00, to lugnet.technic)

Rob, Did you ever get any answers to this query? I also have three of the newer Technic motors that have seized. (Out of a collection of about 10 motors that's a 30% failure rate - not good!) I suspect that this may occur with lack of use rather (...) (25 years ago, 1-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.technic)
