(...) Thanks :-) I must confess that the loader is also my personal favourite, although I am not really sure why at this moment. The crane also has "remote control" for all its functions except telescoping the boom, which had to be fixed onto the (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

(...) I think that is where I get a lot of my inspiration from, mainly the models of around 1980 or so, although I definitely prefer the wider selection of parts available nowadays. (...) Yup, that's where I saw the idea being used first. Alas I only saw this on the scanned instructions on Brickshelf, I don't actually have the pleasure of owning an 8868. Fortunately I was able to get two tubes of exactly the right length for (...) (25 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)
