(...) Well, I have to agree-- the differential is an elegant solution, but a little more complex than necessary... a single ratchet does the trick by itself without really needing the differential. I'd say that there's also the size issue too, but (...) (25 years ago, 2-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

Very nice solution. But we're building a bicycle, not a car!! Differentials are ungodly bulky things, but for technical accuracy, they might do the trick!! Have to upgrade the elephant cyclist to a hippo or whale now! ;-) Cheers ... Geoffrey Hyde (...) (25 years ago, 2-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

I have a solution for the coasting problem. This method allows the wheel to move without the pedals moving and even allows the wheels to move forward if the pedals are moving backwards. The pedals drive one axle of a differential. The other axle of (...) (25 years ago, 2-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

Ok I have a strange question and I don't want anyone to laugh. I'm wondering if the cyberslam guy (not the purple cap't. Pickard guy) has hair like the older figures. Or does he maybe have cool robot stuff up there? Well I've only seen him with his (...) (25 years ago, 1-Sep-00, to lugnet.technic)

I tryed building it also. If you have the "Super Towtruck", use some of the blue flexible tubes as extention. Just simplely connect a hose on either end and vola! Or you can goto Lowe's or Home Depot and pick up about 50 ft. of screen tubing in .75 (...) (25 years ago, 31-Aug-00, to lugnet.technic)
