Re: Some help or advice requested

(...) <snip> Hi Owen, As you say, you want a mechanism where the switch wants to be either on or off, but not in the middle. Had you thought about adding a pivot point at the top of the switch handle, with an axle going up and a weight at the top. (...) (15 years ago, 22-Jan-10, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Some help or advice requested

(...) SNIP I don't think there is a 'save' way to do that. In fact thats the reason reversal switches have dead space, because you will short circuit stuff otherwise (might be only for a millisecond though). I don't know if you ever worked with some (...)   Re: Some help or advice requested

(...) SNIP (...) I have been asked for some pictures of what I am working on (very much prototypes at the present - don't expect anything elegant). (URL) is the track for the tray, and the drive mechanism. As the axle at the front (bottom) of the (...) (15 years ago, 22-Jan-10, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Please help me identify this brick!

(...) Aha many thanks! That also explains what the black and white striped discs are for! I'll have to keep an eye out for the 'control panel' thing on ebay! Cheers, -Mat (15 years ago, 20-Jan-10, to lugnet.technic)

Question about gearing Power Functions-based trains

I've noticed that because the Emerald Night's two sets of driver wheels are locked together, the engine struggles to go around corners: the outer wheels have further to turn, so the wheels slip and the engine's movement becomes jerky. Would it be (...) (15 years ago, 19-Jan-10, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics, FTX)

  Some help or advice requested

Hi all. I am currently working on a project (to be revealed in due course!) and I've come across something of a stumbling block. I have a tray that is constrained to move in one dimension, and a series of short liftarms under the tray, all rotating (...) (15 years ago, 19-Jan-10, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Please help me identify this brick!

(...) (URL) a bit early for Mindstorms. I've only got a passing familiarity with the 4.5v system, but I believe that any parts that feature that type of 3-prong socket are designed for 4.5v power. All Mindstorms parts use either the 2x2x2/3 electric (...) (15 years ago, 19-Jan-10, to lugnet.technic)

Please help me identify this brick!

Hi, I've got a black 3x2 block in my large mixed box of Technic, but I'm not sure what it does! The block has a power cable socket in the top, and a smooth axle hole through it, as well as a smaller hole on one side. I've looked through the various (...)   Motorized Helicopter

(URL) Hi folks Last fall we had the swine flu outbreak - it spread here too, of course, and I fell ill too. While my symptoms remained vague, I was in bed for a week. And one week in bed tends to be kind of boring. So I took my brick boxes onto a (...) (15 years ago, 17-Jan-10, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.cad, FTX)
